“We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we only have one.”
Confucius
Preparing a speech is a common task a high school student has to go through. If you are a high school student and looking for a simple speech about life, then you are in the right spot. In this article, I have provided the simplest speech on life.
You can go through the speech listed in this article and see the different points I have touched upon. It should provide you with an idea for creating a good speech about life.
So, without any delay, let’s start.
5 Minutes Speech About Life
Good morning everyone. Today, I am here before all of you to express my thoughts through a speech about life. What is life? This precious living body and mind are full of self-controlling thoughts we have started at some point. And it has to stop at some point. But life is not just the point between birth and death. It is more than that. It is a beautiful gift for us to cherish, love, and build. But we get too busy getting by that we forget to live the life we have.
A quote from John Lenon should explain it better –
“Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.”
John Lennon
There is a popular saying that suggests life should be understood backward and should be lived forwards. So we cannot mar our future while dwelling in the past. It is a golden opportunity that we have to utilize every ounce of. Irrespective of how many years we get to live, we should try to make them sort of it and help others also have the same level of happiness in their lives.
I know that the fear of death is imminent and it can happen to us at any moment. Bu that should not discourage us from living the life we have always dreamed of living. We should live our lives with no regrets and live it to the fullest so that we have no difficulty accepting death whenever it comes our way.
Importance Of Human Life
Life gives us both positives and negatives. We should use this precious gift we have to enjoy each moment we have at our disposal. Every moment can lead to a new path, a new experience for us to receive blessings. We should always navigate through the negative situations and take the positive from life.
All human beings on earth are different and unique in their own ways. They walk different paths in life, taking them on different journeys. In our paths in life, we will always come across people who curse life and god for all the misfortunes they face. However, we still have the free will to work hard to make our lives better.
The Human Life Is A Journey
We should accept that human life is full of headaches, troubles, heartaches, and joy. We live many special moments, some of which are sad, and some are full of happiness. On the path of life, we are but tired travelers trying to reach a destination unknown. But our road is not a plane one, and we will have to face different challenges.
All of these paths test our courage, weaknesses, strengths, and faith. We have to attend the strict examination of the life and pass the test destiny has laid out for us. Everyone need to overcome all of these obstacles in their lives so that we can conquer our fears and reach our destination.
We will be on the right path once we start confronting the obstacles head-on. Sometimes the very obstacles that get in our way are blessings. The meaning and the secrets of life are visible to people who do not have much attachment to too many things in life.
These people stay away from too much materialistic attachment, and they do not measure the lives of human beings in terms of those possessions. Instead, they measure their lives based on the importance of people they cannot live without.
Conclusion
In conclusion, all I have to say is that life is precious, and it is up to us to ensure that we are living the best lives. We should surround our lives with people we love and people who love us. Although the life we have is very short, we can make it worthwhile by devoting our time to our family, society, friends, and our work.
Short Inspirational Speeches By Famous Personalities
You can also consider going through the following short inspirational speeches by three famous personalities from three different fields to get some ideas on how to write motivational or inspirational speeches about life.
The first one is by Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple, who delivered a commencement speech at Stanford University in 2005. In his speech, he talked about how he followed his passion, faced his failures, and lived every day as if it was his last. He said, “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
The second one is by J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, who gave a commencement speech at Harvard University in 2008. In her speech, she talked about the benefits of failure and the importance of imagination.
She said, “Failure meant a stripping away of the inessential. I stopped pretending to myself that I was anything other than what I was, and began to direct all my energy into finishing the only work that mattered to me. Had I really succeeded at anything else, I might never have found the determination to succeed in the one arena I believed I truly belonged. I was set free, because my greatest fear had been realized, and I was still alive, and I still had a daughter whom I adored, and I had an old typewriter and a big idea. And so rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.”
The third one is by Malala Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate, who spoke at the United Nations in 2013. In her speech, she talked about her struggle for education, her survival from a Taliban attack, and her vision for a peaceful world. She said, “One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world. Education is the only solution. Education first. […] Let us pick up our books and our pens. They are our most powerful weapons. One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.”
